As Milytant Continues To Embark In His Musical Career, He Firmly Believes That ‘Music Finds Souls’.

Clarence Edward Blake, aka Milytant, was born on July 14, 1975 in Manchester, Jamaica W.I. He was the youngest of 12 siblings, all of whom grew up with their mother. Raised in poor but loving setting, music was a way to escape the reality of his poverty-stricken community. Clarence’s greatest influences in music were his two elder brothers, Arnold and Adrian Blake, who performed at numerous events throughout Jamaica. Other significant musicians include artistic pioneers such as Peter Tosh, Culture, Burning Spear, Bob Marley, John Holt, Horace Andy and many more.

At the age of 12, Clarence migrated to Bronx, NY where he became more vocal. By this time he was listening to Rap, Hip Hop, R&B and Soul music which he now incorporates in his own style. As his skill progressed he took his craft more seriously. His fans love his powerful and commanding voice and they raved about the conscious and positive message in his music. He is truly blessed with a natural gift and a god given talent. Milytant is definitely one to be reckoned with.

Finding himself and the God of his salvation, Clarence embraced Rastafari Livity. He endured physical, mental and spiritual struggles through music by writing and singing about his pain and suffering. This was his way of reaching out to the only one he could turn to, his creator.

Clarence has since performed with many world renowned artists in Reggae, Rap, and Hip Hop industries. He has been the opening acts for Bounty Killa, Beenie Man, Capleton, Lady Saw, Luciano, KRS-One, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, The Locs and many others. Milytant has also performed solo acts at the Apollo Theater in NY, The Nikki Summer Fest, SOB’s night club in New York, The Main Stage in Chicago and various night clubs throughout the country. As Milytant continues to embark in his musical career, he firmly believes that ‘music finds souls’. He hopes and prays the messages of his lyrics will have a positive impact on all of its listeners and leave a footprint in their hearts.
